Privacy Policy — Warranty Vault
Last updated: 2026-06-22
Warranty Vault is designed to be private by default. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
Summary
- Warranty Vault has no account and no custom server.
- Everything you add — items, photos, receipts, serial numbers, prices, notes, and reminder settings — is stored locally on your device.
- The app does not collect analytics, does not show ads, and does not track you.
What we store
All app content is stored on-device using the system's local storage (a local JSON snapshot and SwiftData). Attached images are saved in the app's private storage area. This data is included in your encrypted device backups if you have them enabled, under your own Apple ID — it is never sent to us.
Text recognition (OCR)
When you attach a receipt or warranty card, Warranty Vault can suggest text such as a serial number, date, or price. This recognition runs entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. Images and recognized text are never uploaded.
Notifications
If you opt in, the app schedules local notifications to remind you before a warranty expires. These are scheduled on your device by iOS. No push server is involved.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect personal information, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or location data. We have no servers that receive your content.
Support email
If you email support, your message will contain whatever details you choose to include (such as your device model and a description of the issue). We use that information only to help you and do not share it.
Children
Warranty Vault is a general-purpose utility and does not target children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and the version published with the app.
